Planting the seeds of character, learning from our predecessors (Aslaf)-

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah (R.A) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Be devout and you will be the most pious of people. Be content and you will be the most grateful of people. Love for people what you love for yourself and you will be a believer. Behave well with your neighbours and you will be a Muslim. Laugh less, for too much laughter, will deaden the heart'.         Source: Sunan Ibn Mājah 4217,  One of the most important aspects of our predecessors is adherence to the prophetic teachings and heritage. They adhered to it and even to date, that period is known as the golden age of Islam.  The  Islamic Golden Age  was a  period  of cultural, economic, and scientific flourishing in the history of  Islam , traditionally dated from the 8th century to the 14th century. Its reality that never ever any non-Muslim population of Muslim ruled areas took any revolt against Muslim governments. Even Qaisr of Rome sent messages to Christians of Egypt, Jordan and Syria that he wo

A believer's story of a Quarintine:

Assalamu Alaikum  Alhamdhulillah ... By the grace of Almighty Allah, I reached home yesterday by the Delhi... Trivandrum special train.  And now I'm under home quarantine for two weeks in the upper flat of our residence. My children and grandchildren are all away, so strict quarantine is made easy.  I request you all to make Dhua for ease.    We started for Nizaamudheen on the 11th of February, from Kollam ( Ab. Kareem Sb of Poredam, Thaha Sr of Pattazy and myself ), to spend two months in Nizaamudheen Markaz for Thartheeb. But eventually, as you know, things took a different course.  Insha Allah, it will be exactly 4 months on 11th June, when we finish the ongoing quarantine.     We were put in forced quarantine for 58 days in 4 different quarantine camps in Delhi without periodic tests. The entire Ramadhaan and Edul Fithr was spent in the camps. We had the unique distinction of having total vegitarian food for a full Ramadhaan and even on the Eid day!  But in spite of it all,   A

The power of Istighfar:

This story about “Istighfar” is from the life of Imam Ahmed Bin Hanbal, often referred to as the “Sheikh ul-Islam” or the “Imam of Ahl al-Sunnah.” During his old age, while Imam Ahmed was travelling he stopped by a town. After the prayers, he wanted to stay for the night in the masjid yard because he didn’t know anyone in the town. Owing to his humility, he hadn’t introduced himself to anyone thinking that if he did, he would be welcomed by many people. Failing to recognize Ahmed bin Hanbal, the caretaker of the mosque refused to let him stay in the mosque. As Imam Ahmed was quite old, the caretaker had to drag him out of the mosque. On seeing this, a baker from a nearby place felt pity for Imam Ahmed and offered to be the host to him for the night. During his stay with the baker, Imam Ahmed observed that the baker would constantly recite Istighfar. Imam Ahmed asked the baker if this constant practice of saying Istighfar had any effect on him.   *_The baker responded by telling Imam Ah

All you want to know about Halal way of slaughter, and why it is important scientifically:

Dr V K Modi, head of department of meat technology at the Central Food Technology Research Institute in Mysore, says the halal method is effective in draining out most of the blood from a slaughtered animal, which is vital if its meat is to be soft. “In jhatka, chances of blood clotting are higher. This could spoil the meat if it’s kept uncooked for a few days. It could also make the meat tougher to chew.” Halal has been the traditional method of killing animals for meat. It’s only in the early 20th century that Sikhs of Punjab propagated jhatka as a ‘less painful way’ of killing the animal, although it would appear that the alternative way of slaughter was propagated more to differentiate it from the ‘Muslim way’ of killing the animal. Halal involves a swipe with a sharp blade across the animal’s neck, severing the windpipe, jugular vein and carotid artery. Contrary to popular belief, Dr Modi, who trains butchers in the art of slaughtering at the institute’s abattoir, says evidence su

*Need of Seerah of Rasoolullah ﷺ in our lives* Assalamualaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh 1) The life of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and his companions is a constant source of inspiration for those who want to lead meaningful and successful lives. Thus a need was felt for creating a space which is dedicated to learning about the Prophet of Islamﷺ, his life, his qualities and virtues, his habits (sunnah) and the lives of his companions. 2) It is necessary to learn about the life and deeds of Allah's Messengerﷺ in order to lead a life as per His commandments, as Allahﷻ says: There has certainly been for you in the Messenger of Allah an excellent pattern code of conduct (33:21). Say, [O Muhammad], "If you should love Allah, then follow me, [so] Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful." (3:31) 3) It is highly encouraged that we speak about the sunnah of Rasulullahﷺ. We must learn about the sunnah's of our beloved Prophetﷺ, in order that

Dua from Abu Dawud:

Dua for the testing times:

Ya Allah, Ya Raheem, if this is YOUR test upon those who you love then make us of those who will return to YOU with patience and prayer. Ya Allah if this is a manifestation of YOUR displeasure, ya RAHEEM pardon us through YOUR mercy for you are the MOST FORGIVING and THE MOST MERCIFUL. Oh Allah, for those who seek refuge in YOU, provide Aafiyah, pardon their sins and ease their suffering through your bounty and blessing. For those of us who can help, please increase our courage and bolster out strength. For those who cannot help, make us a channel of Dua and supplication so we may glorify you and ask for the ease in the sufferings of our brothers. Ya Allah, make this an opportunity for the softening of the Ummah's hearts and fill it with Iman so we may see your signs, be of those who believe and turn to you in repentance. *May Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى* record our name amongst those who will be forgiven. Aameen. *May Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى* accept all our Du'as and wid
