Every time you go to such fancy marriage, you are okaying their lavish spending in marriage:

-  *Is it not the time to stop attending big fat & fancy marriage parties?* It was such a big pleasure to read about marriages happening during covid with minimal set of people attending it. No rituals, no traditions, no extravaganza spending and zero showoff. It was dream come true for the people like us supporting and working to ease marriages in our Muslim society. But our good dreams were short lived. We hear of fancy & lavish marriages, even though corona has not left us yet. Didn't our people learn their lessons yet?  *The business around marriages seems to have come back, woe to our people who failed to learn lessons from corona which was such a big Message from Allah swt. Do we need more punishments from Allah swt to return back to the Sunnah? Look around the number of marriage halls in the city have increased many folds... these are not making marriages easy but have made marriages a thriving and lucrative business!* All the mess, traditions, cultures, expenditure,

They had nothing much to show, but what they did, mattered to Allah:

May Allah bless you and your family with good health, happiness and honour.  May this day be very special for you in more ways than you thought. Smile and enjoy.  Abu Hurairah(ra) narrated that the Messenger of Allah(sa) said : "Charity does not diminish wealth. Allah does not increase a man in anything for his pardoning (others) but in honour, and none humbles himself for Allah but Allah raises him". (Tirmidhi V4 H2029) Allah blesses acts of alms giving and charity and makes them the cause of increases in wealth rather than decrease in it. Similarly, the act of forgiving and pardoning a wrong doer from a position of strength is the cause of increase in a man's honour and prestige.  ALWAYS LOOK AT THE GOOD IN OTHERS. . . There are no automatic passports to Jannah. A person earned the favor of Jannah just by quenching the thirst of a dog,  another earned it by just forgiving everyone daily before going to bed. They had nothing much to show, but what they did, mattered to A

All wealth belongs to Allah and human beings are only trustees to the wealth:

From the   Islamic point of view, even though man can have private ownership rights to the wealth, however, Allah has clearly laid down the terms of trust. This is because, in Islam, all wealth belongs to Allah and human beings are only trustees to the wealth. On this point, Islam prescribes ways to carry out the trust so that a person has no right to use it to satisfy his whims. He has to observe the Divine commandments. If the violation is serious,  hence, his inability to use his wealth properly provides the basis for the forfeiture of his right to his wealth.  For those whom Allah has blessed with wealth, it is a test; and Muslims should strive to pass this test by not becoming worshipers of hoarded wealth.  Note: The above is taken from below Source. How does Allah Ta’ala increase when He accepts the sadaqah!:

- It is a story from 1282 Hijri, that is, 160 years ago. There was a noble and righteous woman named Munira in the city of Buraidah, Saudi Arabia. She intended to bequeath her jewellery to her brother before she died and instructed him to buy a shop from that money. Whatever income would come from this shop would be spent to fulfill the needs of masakeen.  After her death, her brother sold the jewellery and bought a shop in the name of his sister, which was worth twelve riyals according to the currency of the period. He rented the shop and the rent money was used to attend to the needs of masakeen. This continued for nearly 100 years. After 100 years, the monthly rent of the shop had reached 15,000 riyals and through this money more things were provided for the needy. Then came the day when the Saudi government decided to expand the Mosque of Buraidah and decided to acquire land and shops within the vicinity of the expansion site. The shop of the deceased woman was within the boundarie
