An annual conference for education development (18th Conference):

 *

18th Annual Millat Conference (by MFERD)*

#*Perform to Potential*#

- Building Holistic Education Systems

Dear Brother/Sister,

Assalamu Alaikum

All praise is to the Almighty Lord who created us and bestowed upon us the title of ‘Khalifa’, His vicegerent on earth. This implies that every individual has the ‘potential’ to perform the duties of the Almighty’s vicegerent. Unfortunately, due to several internal and external hindrances, man doesn’t live up to his potential. Similar is the case of our institutions.

In the present world scenario, firmly anchoring and strengthening our educational institutions is of prime importance. It is probably the only way to create a collectively contributing ummah, that can positively influence the future of societies and countries. A handful of schools providing holistic education can significantly change the outlook of an entire city. Such is the potential of educational institutions. But the challenge lies in developing systems and practices (academic, co-curricular and administrative) in our schools that will withstand the ever-increasing onslaught of socio-economic, cultural, political and moral corruption.

Millat Foundation for Education, Research and Development (MFERD) being a research organization, believes that designing and implementing research based and shariah-compliant systems and practices in our schools across the country is the need of the hour and has been working on it for the past nearly two decades. With the aim of laying down clear guidelines and recommendations that can be easily adopted in all schools, MFERD, conducts various programs across the country at district / state and national levels.

The Annual Millat Conference (AMC) is a confluence of leaders in education, school managements, teachers and ulama from across the country. It is designed to be a platform for sharing of progressive ideas, best practices, guidelines and recommendations for schools in India. In keeping with the current need, the theme of the AMC-2022 has been chosen as

Mothers have a great role to play in shaping the characters and morals of nations:

 * *Two incidents about the loss of a pencil!* *The first case of the missing pencil:* One robber says: Once, when I was in 4th class, I lost my pencil. When I came home I told my mother about it, as a punishment she hit me and scolded me. She called me stupid, irresponsible and much more. As a result of my mother's harsh behaviour, I made up my mind that I would not go to my mother empty-handed, so I decided to steal the pencils of my classmates. The next day, I made a plan and I didn't stop stealing one or two pencils but stole the pencils of all my class fellows. At first, I used to be afraid, but with time I got confident and more fearless. After doing so for a month, I lost the thrill. Then, I decided to go to the next class. I went from one class to another, and finally I went to the school principal's room.  It was a year of practical experience in which I learned to steal both theoretically and practically and then I became a professional bandit. *The second case o

They are your children, Amanah from Allah:

*They are your children*              🧕👲 They are not burdens, they are not your mistake, they are not your headache, they are not your empty dirt bags in which you throw your stress, negativity, rage and anger into. They are not your financial difficulties, they are not your delicate toys to break emotionally, physically and mentally. They are not your weakling to walk all over and disrespect. They are not your verbal diarrhea sink to spew curses, insults and ridicule into. They are not your bad deeds coming back to haunt you. They are not the reason to live in an abusive marriage. They are not puppets to be controlled at all times. They are not your second chance to try and live your unfulfilling life, your shattered dreams and your broken aspirations through them. They are not your enemy, your competitor, your despair, your hurdle, your set back and your full stop. They are not the reason you stop perusing your dreams, hobbies and interests. They are not their nanny
