You're either a slave of your desires or a slave of Allāh.

*I post this with tears in my eyes.* This is a Khutbah which was Given by one Ustaz from Osogbo, osun  (Nigeria) What a touching KHUTUBAH please if time allows you  read it. It's worth a Reminder; Published as received. "Every human is a slave. You're either a  slave of your desires or a slave of Allāh. You either live life by your rules or the rule of Allāh. How can the heart travel to God if it's chained by its desires? O' son of Adam! Sell this World for the hereafter and you win both, sell the hereafter for this world & you lose both. #DeenOverDunya Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyah Islam is not a buffet where you pick and choose what suits you. Don't obey your desires. Obey Allaah. "Imprisoned is he, whose heart is imprisoned from Allāh. Captured is he, who is captured by his desires." Fudayl Ibn Iyad was asked "What do you find the strangest of all things?" He said: The heart that knows Allāh, yet still disobeys Him 😢 ...

Understanding Islamic World view with Dr Asad Zaman:

Kind teacher introduces you to Dr Asad Zaman's blog: Click to open: https://asadzaman.net/ About the work of Dr Asad Zaman: The vast majority of our “knowledge” of the world we live in is highly Eurocentric. Nearly all of my writing aims at developing  a  worldview which is based on the teachings of Islam . This involves looking  at history, and also the meaning of knowledge, very differently from what we were taught in the course of our western education. A very simple explanation of some basic misconceptions generated by Eurocentric teachings is given in my paper:  Directions for Muslim Scholars in Social Sciences .  A more completed and detailed explanation of how appropriate methodology of social science is entirely different from that of physical science is given in An  Islamic Approach to  Humanities . — the main idea is that the prestige of Physical Science has led to the adoption of scientific methodology for social science, which has s...

About Hell, Hell fire- Jahannam ki tafseel :

July 30 - 2021. Today's learning: (The original speech was in urdu, after that it is translated into English text by Mohsin sir) Surath Al -Kahf.Chapter 18- verse:29.  *Hell explanation: (Jahannam ki tafseel):*  By Islamic interpreters.(Mufassireen e Islam).  *Brief description of the verse:*  When the truth is revealed then it is upon the people whether to accept it or reject it.If they accept it then it's good for them and if they reject it then there's a torment of blazing fire for them.  *Inference:* Here the humans who had being given the free will(ikhtiyaar) act according to their own whims and desires.Angels don't have this kind of choice with them only the jinns(one of the creation of Allah with fire) and the humans have this free will option.  *Consequences of the free will:*  Allah has revealed all the ways of guidance in his final book. Those who don't accept and practice they would be sent to the hell. Seven names of hell are as follow...

A believer's story of a Quarintine:

Assalamu Alaikum  Alhamdhulillah ... By the grace of Almighty Allah, I reached home yesterday by the Delhi... Trivandrum special train.  And now I'm under home quarantine for two weeks in the upper flat of our residence. My children and grandchildren are all away, so strict quarantine is made easy.  I request you all to make Dhua for ease.    We started for Nizaamudheen on the 11th of February, from Kollam ( Ab. Kareem Sb of Poredam, Thaha Sr of Pattazy and myself ), to spend two months in Nizaamudheen Markaz for Thartheeb. But eventually, as you know, things took a different course.  Insha Allah, it will be exactly 4 months on 11th June, when we finish the ongoing quarantine.     We were put in forced quarantine for 58 days in 4 different quarantine camps in Delhi without periodic tests. The entire Ramadhaan and Edul Fithr was spent in the camps. We had the unique distinction of having total vegitarian food for a full Ramadhaan and even on t...

Eid Mubarak: Beyond the Festivities, Towards a Lifetime of Reflection:

 - ##  Eid Mubarak to you and your loved ones! As the crescent moon graces the sky, marking the end of Ramadan, we are filled with joy, gratitude, and a sense of spiritual renewal. The month of fasting, prayer, and reflection has drawn to a close, leaving behind a beautiful tapestry of shared experiences and strengthened faith. This Eid, as we gather with family and friends, exchanging warm greetings and savoring delicious treats, let's also take a moment to reflect on the profound lessons Ramadan has imparted. However, the true essence of Ramadan lies not just in the month itself, but in the lasting impact it has on our lives. The spirit of generosity, the commitment to prayer, the dedication to self-improvement – these are not fleeting practices to be abandoned once Eid arrives. This Eid, let's make a conscious effor...

The power of Istighfar:

This story about “Istighfar” is from the life of Imam Ahmed Bin Hanbal, often referred to as the “Sheikh ul-Islam” or the “Imam of Ahl al-Sunnah.” During his old age, while Imam Ahmed was travelling he stopped by a town. After the prayers, he wanted to stay for the night in the masjid yard because he didn’t know anyone in the town. Owing to his humility, he hadn’t introduced himself to anyone thinking that if he did, he would be welcomed by many people. Failing to recognize Ahmed bin Hanbal, the caretaker of the mosque refused to let him stay in the mosque. As Imam Ahmed was quite old, the caretaker had to drag him out of the mosque. On seeing this, a baker from a nearby place felt pity for Imam Ahmed and offered to be the host to him for the night. During his stay with the baker, Imam Ahmed observed that the baker would constantly recite Istighfar. Imam Ahmed asked the baker if this constant practice of saying Istighfar had any effect on him.   *_The baker responded by tellin...

How to Deal with Sadness and Worry:

 - بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم  *How to Deal with Sadness and Worry* (part 1 of 2): Patience, Gratitude and Trust 🍄Practising Islam in the way Allah directed is an expression of patience and gratitude. 🍄 If we accept and acknowledge as blessings the trials, triumphs, and tribulations of this life we open the way for the annihilation of all our worries and grief.  🍄All our experiences, from the highest highs to the lowest lows, are blessings from Allah.   🍄When we are overcome by sadness or worry we must turn to Allah, strive to be patient and grateful and put our trust in Allah because Allah is the most trustworthy. “The believers are only those who, when God is mentioned, feel a fear in their hearts and when His Verses (this Quran) are recited unto them, they (i.e. the Verses) increase their Faith; and they put their trust in their Lord Alone.” (Quran 8:2) This complete trust in Allah is called tawakkul.  🍄It means that we face life’s trials, and triumphs...

15 Things About The Character of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) Every Muslim Must Spread:

🌸15 Things About The Character of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) Every Muslim Must Spread: If there is any personality that has lived on the face of this earth who was complete in every regard and the life of whom can serve as a beacon of guidance for people of every walk of life, that personality would undeniably be the personality of Muhammad (PBUH). Muslims follow Him because of Him being the Prophet as their religion and those who do not follow Islam also hold Him at a higher pedestal when it comes to human character. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was born in Saudi Arabia in the city of Makkah about 1400 years ago. Since then the world has not seen the likes of Him in every regard and the study of human history shows that there have been none better than Him before Him as well. The key factor that brings reverence and respect to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in both the Islamic and the non-Islamic circles is His character. He was the best in character and He also said about in one of His hadith...
