Surah Al kahf.
Meaning of patience explained:
*By famous scholar of Islam Ibn Ul Qayyim in his book "Patience and Gratitude."*
"It means stronger common sense and religious motives."
*Patience has a different role in different aspects.*
* When controlling sexual desires it's called honor (waqaar).
*When restraining greed it's self control(tahammul)
*When used in anger management it's forbearance (bardaashth).
*When refraining from haste and hurry it's gracefulness (Shaistaa).
*When refraining from running away it's courage (bahaduri).
*When avoiding revenge/retaliation it's forgiveness (Maafi).
*When refraining from stinginess (kanjoosi) it's generosity (Sakhawath).
Islam is overall a religion of perseverance and tolerance. In short a religion of patience.
Being created with a mixture of fire, water, mud and air, certain features like pride , greed, hoarding and superiority complex do exist in the human nature.
2.Pride is an inborn instinct (fee nafsihi) and could be removed with the help of establishing Salath(religious prayers).
3.Greed could be reduced by fasting (Saum).
4.Feature of hoarding could be overcome by paying the Zakat tax (purification of wealth).
5.Superiority complex could be terminated by performing the pilgrimage rituals(Ahkaam e Hajj) like wearing ihram that makes one look similar and simple like all the other human beings present at the Hajj (pilgrimage).
6.For a change/revolution, one must come out of one's comfort zone to make a difference in the education system or else the main concepts like critical thinking, inquiry based learning, creativity, unlearning and relearning with holistic approach gets neglected and compromised which is very very dangerous to the school organisations.
Let's inculcate the different forms of patience (sabr) in us. Ameen.
May Allah give us all patience( sabr) and guide us to be steadfast upon it. Ameen.
May Allah make our tasks easy for us. Ameen.
