Business Etiquette from Prophet Muhammed's ﷺ :

 *

Prophet Muhammed's ﷺ Business Etiquette*

-

In Islam, trade has always been recognised as an important aspect of human life. Before revelation came to Prophet ﷺ, he earned his living as a trader. His integrity and veracity were quickly noticed by his employer, Sayyida Khadijah (RA), who later married him.

*★ Sadiq and Ameen*

It was a result of his ﷺ honesty and noble character that he ﷺ was called as 'Sadiq' (truthful) and 'Ameen' (trustworthy) amongst the Makkans.

Hazrat Abu Sufianؓ  (the bitterest enemy of Islam before he accepted Islam) said: "It is inconceivable for one who has never told a lie during his whole life to invent lies against Allah ﷻ.

The Makkans agreed unanimously that Allah's Messenger ﷺ was a truthful person. Once before his conversion, Yasir (ra) asked his son Ammar (ra), where he was going. Ammar (ra) said that he was going to the Prophet ﷺ. Being fully satisfied of his son's safety while with him ﷺ, he replied: "Muhammad ﷺ is a trustworthy person. The Makkans recognise him so, if he claims Prophethood he ﷺ must be telling the truth, for no one has ever heard him tell a lie."

Even though Makkans didn't believe in Islam, they trusted Prophet ﷺ so much that they used to keep their precious goods as an 'Amanah' with him, because they knew that he ﷺ was 'al Ameen', he ﷺ was never going to betray them. At the time of Hijrah also, before leaving he ﷺ gave the responsibility to Hazrat Ali (ra) of distributing the goods which were with him ﷺ of the Makkans.

*★ Best livelihood:*

Rafi' bin Khadij (RA) says that Prophet Muhammed ﷺ was asked about the best livelihood, he ﷺ said, "working with one's own hands to earn one's livelihood, and trade in which dishonesty and falsehood do not find any place." _(Mishkat)._

Alhamdulillah the Prophet ﷺ taught us the best way in every aspect of life. He ﷺ not only showed the way of life but also informed us about the rewards we will get In Sha Allah if we follow his ﷺ teachings. Hence mentioning a Hadith in this regard is: Abu Sayeed Qudri (RA) narrated: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said that the honest and trustworthy traders shall be with the Prophets, Siddiqs and the Martyrs." _(Tirmizi)_.

Subhan Allah!

*★ Correct way of selling/dealing:*

Prophet Muhammed ﷺ said: "A merchant who hoards goods in order to raise their prices is a sinner." _(Muslim)_

He ﷺ also said: "It is required for the vendor to tell the buyer about any defects of which he is aware." _(Ibn Hanbal)_

The traders have been instructed to honestly tell the purchaser the faults (defects) of the object he is selling.

The Prophet ﷺ passed by a trader selling cereals. He ﷺ dipped his hand into the heap of the grain and discovered that the grains below the surface were wet. He ﷺ asked the trader to explain. He said in reply that it got wet in shower. The Prophet ﷺ asked him, "why did you conceal it and why did you not keep the wet grains exposed (so that it is visible to the purchaser)." Then he ﷺ said, "those who resort to fraud are not one of us (the community of believers)."

*★ Way of employing:*

The holy Prophet ﷺ cursed the one who employs a labourer and gets the full work done by him but does not pay him his wages. _(Bukhari)_

In another beautiful Hadith the Allah's Messenger ﷺ taught us the beautiful way to treat labourers. "Pay the labourer his wages even before his sweat dries." _(Ibn Majah)_

A child doesn’t break loudly. It happens quietly:

 - Be honest with yourself for a moment… When you see a child struggling… angry… insecure… constantly seeking attention… do you ever stop and ask, what did they grow up around? Who was present… and who wasn’t? Who listened… and who dismissed? Who loved… and who controlled? The Prophet ﷺ didn’t just speak about worship… he spoke about responsibility. كُلُّكُمْ رَاعٍ وَكُلُّكُمْ مَسْئُولٌ عَنْ رَعِيَّتِهِ Each of you is responsible… and each of you will be questioned. And Allah didn’t say fix the world. He said protect your families. قُوا أَنفُسَكُمْ وَأَهْلِيكُمْ نَارًا This is where it begins. A child doesn’t break loudly. It happens quietly… in the way they start doubting themselves… in the way they stop feeling safe… in the way they look for love in the wrong places. So ask yourself… What is your home producing? Because one day… your child will become someone’s spouse… someone’s parent… someone who shapes the world. And whatever you planted… will not stay inside your home. Source...

Islamic tradition has long possessed its own highly structured, time-tested system for internal regulation: Muhasabah (spiritual self-auditing):

 - "The intelligent person is the one who takes account of himself (subjugates his soul) and works for what comes after death. And the helpless person is the one who follows his desires and then entertains baseless hopes in Allah." (Sunan al-Tirmidhi, Hadith 2459; Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith 4260) In an era dominated by hyper-connectivity and endless external noise, the human mind is rarely granted the space to simply pause. While modern psychology heavily promotes mindfulness as an antidote to this existential fatigue, Islamic tradition has long possessed its own highly structured, time-tested system for internal regulation: Muhasabah (spiritual self-auditing).  Far from being a vague, abstract concept, classical Islamic scholars treated self-reflection as an active, daily operational framework—a psychological necessity for purifying the heart and mastering the ego. By exploring the practical models left behind by giants like Imam Al-Ghazali and Ibn al-Qayyim , we uncover a time...

# The Invisible Foundation: How Islamic Scholarship Built the Modern West:

 - The history of "Western" knowledge is often told as a straight line from Ancient Greece to the European Renaissance. However, modern scholarship reveals that this narrative has a massive "missing middle."  For over five hundred years, the Islamic Golden Age did not just "preserve" ancient knowledge—it revolutionized it, creating the very empirical and logical tools the West uses today. ## 1. Beyond Preservation: The Birth of Experimentation While the Greeks excelled in deductive reasoning (thinking from general principles), Islamic scholars introduced the **inductive, experimental method**. The most prominent figure was **Ibn al-Haytham (Alhazen)**. In his *Kitab al-Manazir* (Book of Optics), he rejected the Greek theory that the eye emits light. More importantly, he established that theories must be proven through controlled, repeatable experiments (Piniés, n.d.). This methodological shift is now recognized as the foundational root of the modern scient...

Some of the traditional methods of raising children in Tarim (Yemen):

*Raising children* Some of the traditional methods of raising children in Tarim (Yemen). This is really beautiful. Women expecting children would ensure every morsel going into their mouths was halal. Breastfeeding mothers would repeatedly recite Ayah al-Kursi, Surah al-Falaq, Surah al-Nas and du'as of protection over their babies. When a child first began to speak it would be taught to say: رَضِيتُ بِاللهِ رَبّاً، وبِالإِسْلامِ دِيناً، و بسيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ صلى الله عليه وسلم نَبِيَّاً ورَسُولاً ‘I am content with Allah as my Lord, with Islam as my religion, and with our Master Muhammad ﷺ as my Prophet and Messenger.’ Parents would teach their children the importance of making good intentions and what intentions to make just as they would teach them how to recite Surat al-Fatiha. Parents would teach their children to call upon Allah in every situation. If a child asked for something, his parents would tell him to perform wudu, pray two rak'ats and then ask Allah to fulfil his...

Slicing Through the Ego: The Internal Qurbani:

 - # Beyond the Sacrifice: What is Your "Ismail" This Eid ul Adha? 🌙 **Eid Mubarak!** 🌙 Every year, as the global Muslim community gathers to celebrate Eid ul Adha, our focus naturally turns to the tradition of *Qurbani* (sacrifice). We prepare the animals, distribute the meat, and share meals with family and neighbors. But if we pause and look past the physical rituals, a profound spiritual question emerges. **Eid ul Adha is not just about sacrificing an animal. It is about sacrificing whatever stands between you and Allah.** ## The True Essence of Qurbani: Trust Over Fear When Prophet Ibrahim (AS) left his wife, Hajara (AS), and their infant son in the barren desert of Makkah, he didn’t leave them in fear—he left them in absolute, unwavering trust of Allah. And years later, when he raised the knife above his beloved son, Ismail (AS), it wasn't an act of cruelty. It was the ultimate demonstration of submitting his will to the Divine. > **The realization:** The knife...

The Last Sermon (Khutbah) of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ (Farewell Sermon):

 - The Last Sermon (Khutbah) of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ (Farewell Sermon) Prophet Muhammad ﷺ delivered His ﷺ last sermon (Khutbah) on the ninth of Dhul Hijjah (12th and last month of the Islamic year), 10 years after Hijrah (migration from Makkah to Madinah) in the Uranah Valley of Mount Arafat. His ﷺ words were quite clear and concise and were directed to the entire humanity. After praising, and thanking Allah He ﷺ said: “O People, lend me an attentive ear, for I know not whether after this year, I shall ever be amongst you again. Therefore listen to what I am saying to you very carefully and TAKE THESE WORDS TO THOSE WHO COULD NOT BE PRESENT HERE TODAY. O People, just as you regard this month, this day, this city as Sacred, so regard the life and property of every Muslim as a sacred trust. Return the goods entrusted to you to their rightful owners. Hurt no one so that no one may hurt you. Remember that you will indeed meet your LORD, and that HE will indeed reckon your deeds.  AL...

It comes first as per the sequence in the Quran, but fifth in terms of revelation. •        As per a hadith in Tirmidhi, the likes of Surah Fatiha doesn’t exist in the previously revealed books. •        Fatiha miraculously accumulates all the 5 topics that the entire Quran deals with. They are: Tawheed (Oneness of Allah) & Risalah (prophethood), Hereafter, Shariah rules, beautiful ending of the followers of the Qur’anic world order, and the dreadful end to the opposers of it! Hence the reason we’re obliged to recite the essence of Quran – Surah Fatiha in every Ruku of the prayers. •        It also has other names like Surah Kanz, Al-Hamd, Munajaat, Al-Sawal etc. •        Surah Baqarah: Prophet Muhammed ﷺ said that Sahytan doesn’t enter the h...

A Ramadan of Change – 26 of 30 ** A nightly appointment with an angel ** In Ramadan, the Prophet Mohammad PBUH would be blessed with a nightly appointment with angel Jibreel who’d mutually study with him the Qur’an. Describing this and its effects, Ibnu ‘Abbaas said: كَانَ رسول الله - صلى الله عليه وسلم - أجْوَدَ النَّاسِ، وَكَانَ أجْوَدَ مَا يَكُونُ في رَمَضَانَ حِيْنَ يَلْقَاهُ جِب...

A web-app that could assist the elderly with their namaz:

Assalamu Alaikum! I made a web-app for the elderly. Backstory: my Nani used to be very punctual with her prayers but suddenly she stopped praying. My mom promptly noticed this change and asked her why she wasn’t praying and she said that it’s because she forgets the ayat, or what to say, or even the rakat. So my mom would sit with her and basically pray the whole namaz with her. Now years later my mom asked me to make an app that could assist the elderly with their namaz. So I made this web-app. If you guys know anyone that’s at an age where they’re starting to forget things and you think this could benefit them. Just let them know about it and let me get that sawab.  Thanks, Sherry Click to open: https://www.salahcompanion.us Source: the above information is recieved through whatsapp
