`Umar رضي الله عنه said: The Prophet (ﷺ) said:

 

❝By this Book (i.e. the Qur’aan), Allaah exalts some peoples and degrade others.❞

Our honor is in following Islaam. `Umar Ibn al-Khattaab رضي الله عنه set out for al-Shaam with Abu `Ubaydah bin al-Jarraah رضي الله عنه. On the way, they came upon a deep creek (which they needed to cross). So `Umar came down off his camel, took off his sandals and carried them on his shoulders. Then he took the reign of the camel and began plowing through the water. Abu `Ubaydah said: “O Ameer al-Mu’mineen! You are doing this - you took off your sandals and carry them on your shoulders while you cross the creek? I fear that the people of the village will think of you without honor.” `Umar replied: 


❝Oh Abu `Ubaydah! Had someone other than you made such a statement, I would have made him an example for the Ummah of Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم (i.e. he would have punished him). Verily, we were a disgraceful people and Allaah honored us with Islaam, so if we seek honor from other than Islaam, then Allaah will humiliate us.❞ 


📚 [Al-Haakim in his Al-Mustadrak (207) and said it is “Saheeh” as per the condition of al-Bukhaaree and Muslim, and al-Dhahabee agreed with him. Shaikh al-Albaanee also agreed with them in al-Saheehah (1/118)]

Our honor is in being sincere Muslims: 


{But honour belongs to Allaah and His Messenger, and to the BELIEVERS; but the Hypocrites know not.}

Imaam Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said: 


❝By Allaah! The enemy did not wrong you except after the Lord abandoned you, so do not think that Shaitaan overpowers you, it is just that the Protector (Allaah تعالى) Who has forsaken you. Beware of your soul, for no misfortune befalls you except because of it, so do not ever be reconciled with it. By Allaah! Its honor is derived from its submission (to Allaah), its dignity is derived from its subservience, its reform is derived from its breakdown, its comfort is derived from its hardship, its security is derived from its fear (of Allaah), and its pleasure is derived from its sorrow.❞

Shaikh Muhammad Ibn Saaleh al-`Uthaymeen رحمه الله said: 


❝Do you see any destruction more severe than the destruction of the Ummah nowadays? They are Billion in numbers, they are nearly one-fourth of the world population, but they have no value in the global community in spite of having moral force, material power and manpower. But when they neglected the Deen of Allaah, Allaah عز وجل forsook them, so that a person trusts the oppressors among the Kuffar more than he trusts his own brothers among the Muslims – and this is an ordeal and a calamity.❞

A web-app that could assist the elderly with their namaz:

 Assalamu Alaikum! I made a web-app for the elderly. Backstory: my Nani used to be very punctual with her prayers but suddenly she stopped praying. My mom promptly noticed this change and asked her why she wasn’t praying and she said that it’s because she forgets the ayat, or what to say, or even the rakat. So my mom would sit with her and basically pray the whole namaz with her. Now years later my mom asked me to make an app that could assist the elderly with their namaz. So I made this web-app. If you guys know anyone that’s at an age where they’re starting to forget things and you think this could benefit them.
