•        Every prophet and messenger of Allah (peace be upon them) is highly respectable.

•        Just like Prophet Muhammed ﷺ excels over other prophets, his Ummah excels over other prophets’ nations.

•        Despite sending messengers and prophets, Allah didn’t force humanity to accept Islam, rather left if to its choice.

•        Basis this choice, all of humanity will be questioned on the Day of Judgement (about its choice of religion and deeds).

•        Humanity is advised to do good deeds and beautify its hereafter, as relations, requests (except who Allah grants permission), and negotiations will not benefit.

•        Ayat al-Kursi is the 255th verse of Surah Baqah, which is the most honored Quranic verse, as it magnificently reflects Tawheed (Oneness of Allah), Divine Majesty, and Allah’s Endless Power, 17 times, both directly and indicatively.

•        Next verse states that no human will be forced to accept Islam, despite a clear distinction of guidance and misguidance. Allah is the Friend of those who believe, and the disbelievers have Taghoot (forces of falsehood) as their friends, and the later will live in the Hell forever.

•        Taghoot is a characteristic worse than Fisq (transgression). The one who disobeys Allah’s commands, knowing it is a sin, is called a Fasiq (transgressor), but the person or a group which bears enmity of Allah in their hearts, and want to impose their wishful desires and laws as against the rules of Allah is a Taghoot. Firawn & Namrood are the examples of Taghoot in the past, and the dictatorial councils as of today, even if they’re being governed in the name of all the “-isms” contrary to Rules of Allah, are those of today.

•        Three historical incidents are then mentioned, which talk about Tawheed (Oneness of Allah), and make the concept of life after death evident. They are:

a)        Dialogue between Sayyiduna Ibraheem (alaihissalam) and Namrood; the later claimed he can kill and save people from death, hence claimed to be a god. Sayyiduna Ibraheem (a.s.) said that Allah rises sun from the east, and challenged Namrood to rise it from the west. Namrood became speechless. (Ref.: 2:258)

b)        Next verse talks of an incident relating Sayyiduna Uzair (alaihissalam) in 587 BC, when Nebuchadnezzar II destroyed Bayt al-Maqdis (Jerusalem). While traveling and looking upon its destruction, Sayyiduna Uzair (a.s.) called out involuntarily and wondered how will Allah re-establish the city. Then Allah granted (temporary) death to Sayyiduna Uzair (a.s.) and his ride (an animal), woke him up after 100 years, showed his ride coming back to life, and preserved his food for a hundred years which he kept with himself to consume during the travel. Allah Showed Sayyiduna Uzair (a.s.) practically how His Power and Control works over everything. Taking motivation from the incident, Sayyiduna Uzair (a.s.) revived the spiritual and religious sentiments of Bani Israel. (Ref.: 2:259)

c)        The next verse talks of Sayyiduna Ibrahim (a.s.) witnessing the modality of ‘life after death’. When he wanted to witness the same, Allah Ordered him to get well acquainted with 4 birds (and name them), slaughter them, mince them, mix all of their meats together, place portions of the meats on different mountains, then call the birds with their names. When Sayyiduna Ihraheem (a.s.) called them, every bone, feather, drops of blood and every particle of each bird rejoined with its respective bird and came to Sayyiduna Ibraheem (a.s.) in its same actual form. Allah did it. This shows everything is possible for Allah! (Ref.: 2:260)

•        Islam touched every aspect of human life welfare, be it be humanity, charity in the way of Allah, brotherhood, grace, mercy etc. The verses 261 and 262 of Surah Baqarah talk about spending in charity, and gave two examples each of sincerity (ikhlaas) and show-off (Riya).

•        Receiving wisdom is a great blessing from Allah. One must spend wisely, openly and secretly, in the way of Allah. Especially the white-collared destitute – those who’re religious & poor but do not ask for money must be supported financially, with respect.

•        The Noble Quran guided us in verses 275 to 280 on a financial system based on justice. The destruction that usury and interest bring has been brought forward, and this very concept has greatly been rejected, and the teaching of dealing with debtors softly has been advised. To continue the system of usury and interest has been termed as a war against Allah and His Rasool ﷺ (Nauzubillah)!

•        In verse 281, Allah asked us to contemplate and fear the Day of Judgement. This very sense of keeping accountability on that day in mind helps Godfearing people to refrain from bad deeds and from spreading disorder on earth. This verse, as per one tradition, is the last to be revealed sequentially.

•        Verse 2:282 is the longest verse in the Holy Quran. Also called as Ayat al-Madainah, it talks about the Quranic rules of loans, mortgage, fixation of the loan repayment, drafting of such transactions, grantees & agreements, the presence of the guarantors etc.

•        At the end of this Surah, Allah clarifies that He does not burden anyone beyond his/her capabilities.

•        The end of Surah Baqarah shows us the etiquette of asking dua to Allah.

•        The last two verses of this Surah are of great importance. As per a hadith, these verses are enough for those who recite this before bed.

•        Surah aal-Imran: Starts at the 9th Ruku of this Juz; is one of the longest chapters in Quran.

•        Both Surah Baqarah and Aal-Imran discuss similar topics, so Prophet Muhammed ﷺ called them Zahraween (two shining things or Sun and Moon).

•        The start of this Surah declares the truthfulness of the Holy Quran, and the previously revealed unchanged heavenly scriptures including the Torah and the Bible.

•        The Jews were addressed to in Surah Baqarah, whereas the Christians were addressed in Surah Aal-Imran.

•        The context of the start of this Surah is the visit of 60 member Christian delegation from Najran to visit Prophet Muhammed ﷺ in Madinah. They sometimes called Prophet Isa (Jesus) peace be upon him as God, or the son of God.

•        Prophet Muhammed ﷺ replied that Allah is the All Living, and Prophet Isa (pbuh) will have an end. Son has similarities with his father, but Sayyiduna Isa (pbuh) doesn’t; Allah doesn’t need food but Sayyiduna Isa (pbuh) does; nothing is hidden from Allah, but that ‘s not the case with the Son of Mary (pbuh). The Christian delegation had no response.

•        Allah describes the formation and the creation of a human being in the womb of the mother, and says that it is He Who has revealed the Quran (note that the scientific details of Embryology weren’t known until a few decades ago, but Allah spoke of it 1400 years ago in the Quran).

•        Allah speaks of two types of people:

a)        Those who are in the search of truth always follow rules (of Allah).

b)        And those who have crookedness in their minds come up with false interpretations of metaphorical aspects in the Quran, and use this approach to reach their wishful goals.

•        The People of the Book (Jews & Christians) are condemned and are spoken about. Allah said that they are the ones who killed prophets, spilled blood (unjustly), committed atrocities on the pious followers of Allah etc. Allah asks us not to befriend with them, and that the disbelievers can never be a true friend and a well-wisher.

•        Allah gives a list of people and things which a human covets, then said that this world has an end; the best return for people rests is Allah, to be given in the hereafter.

•        Verse 31 talks about the exaltedness of Prophet Muhammed ﷺ

•        The last verses of this Juz state that Islam is a continuous system, which started with Sayyiduna Adam (alaihissalam) and has been in continuity with Sayyiduna Muhammad ﷺ. All the other prophets called people toward the same Islam (the rules changed a bit as per changes in times, but the base of it, like Tawheed, was the same). Adherence to any other religion other than Islam will not be accepted by Allah in the hereafter!

Discipline is not oppression, it is love in action:

 - *The Perils of Pampering: Raising Disciplined, God-Conscious Children*   In a world that glorifies instant gratification, indulgence, and materialism, we risk raising a generation that lacks resilience, respect, and responsibility. The saying, *"A pampered child becomes a spoiled adult,"* holds profound truth. If we fail to discipline our children today, we may find ourselves helplessly watching them struggle tomorrow or worse, witnessing them turn into entitled, inconsiderate adults.   *Discipline is not oppression, it is love in action*. It is the framework that shapes a child’s character, teaching them that life does not always bend to their will. If we refuse to instill these values at home, the world will teach them often in ways we would never approve of.   Islam places immense emphasis on disciplined upbringing. The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said:   > *"Command your children to pray at the age of seven, and discipline them for it at t...

The Doctor, Medicine and Muslims past 1000 years:

 - Muslim science  par excellence  was the study of medicine. Interest in medicine goes back to the very earliest times. The Prophet himself stated that there was a remedy for every illness, and was aware that some diseases were contagious. The great contribution of the Arabs was to put the study of medicine on a scientific footing and eliminate superstition and harmful folk-practices. Medicine was considered a highly technical calling, and one which required long study and training. Elaborate codes were formulated to regulate the professional conduct of doctors. It was not enough to have a mastery of one’s subject in order to practice medicine. Certain moral qualities were mandatory.  Ibn Hazm  said that a doctor should be kind, understanding, friendly, good, able to endure insults and adverse criticism; he must keep his hair short, and his fingernails as well; he must wear clean, white clothes and behave with dignity. Before doctors could practice, they had to...

Why Pork (pig meat) is Haram in Islam? Some scientific observations:

Why Pork is Haram in Islam ~ In the Qur'an Allah has forbidden pork. Do you know that pork is forbidden by Jews, and its forbidden in Bible too. 15 Things You Should Know About Pigs: 1) A pig is a real garbage gut. It will eat anything including urine, excrement, dirt, decaying animal flesh, maggots, or decaying vegetables. They will even eat the cancerous growths off other pigs or animals. 2) The meat and fat of a pig absorbs toxins like a sponge. Their meat can be 30 times more toxic than beef or venison. 3) When eating beef or venison, it takes 8 to 9 hours to digest the meat so what little toxins are in the meat are slowly put into our system and can be filtered by the liver. But when pork is eaten, it takes only 4 hours to digest the meat. We thus get a much higher level of toxins within a shorter time. 4) Unlike other mammals, a pig does not sweat or perspire. Perspiration is a means by which toxins are removed from the body. Since a pig does not sweat, the toxins re...
